Park Hyun Ji

Park Hyun Ji (South Korea) Residence: March, 2016

Park Hyun Ji is a visual media artist [Brand: 켡(Kyun)], an art therapist and an art educator in South Korea.
She graduated her Postgraduate of Art Therapy, Art and Design in 2016 at Konkuk University and holds her Bachelor of Cartoon Animation at Kongju National University.
She is specialised in illustration, animation, and visual representation of a variety of media art.

Park draws the brain as the brain functions resemble our society. Cells of the brain is a work of the next dead cells, and the brain cells are connected. This ideas makes her comfortable, and she draws pictures. The presence of all moving creatures is expressed in a moving picture; animation.
She explores to express the topic; the brain symbolises that all of us are significant and related to each other that is why we all need to be united.

I held an event to post people's thoughts and desires at a spring cherry blossom ceremony in a small town in Japan.
Reconfigured stickers in ' My Head in My Head '.
It marked a sign that people were communicating with each other by connecting people's messages with a cord.
In addition, I made a feel for the feeling in Fukuoka, Japan.

숲의 시작을 이루는 '소녀의 등' 플립북은 '켡'프로젝트의 첫 번째 작업물입니다.

뇌순대 시리즈의 일환으로 진행되고 있는 복합 비주얼 미디어 작업들 중, 플립북으로 '켡'소속 노동자 바켠지에 의해 제작되어 출간하였습니다.

뇌순대 시리즈는 노동자 바켠지가 느낀 감정, 생각, 느낌 등을 바탕으로 순대와 같은 모양의 뇌로 표현한 시리즈입니다.

'켡'프로젝트의 본격 도약 출판물 '숲의 시작 : 소녀의 등'을 통해 앞으로의 '켡'만의 숲을 만들어나가고자 하는 노동열(노동열정)을 담고자 하였습니다.

 

소녀의 등줄기에서 뻗어나는 나무는 무성하게 뻗어나가 숲을 만듭니다.

무한한 공간으로의 숲.
공간적 개념의 숲안에서 다양한 세세한 무언가들이 꿈틀대는것을 표현하고 싶었습니다.
그동안 작업을 하며 간과하고 있었던 것은 숲을 만들기 위해서는 나무가 있어야 한다는 것이었습니다.
단순하게 숲을 만들고자 했던 저에게 세세한 그 숲 안에 있어야 할 것들에대한 생각이 부제했다고 생각합니다. 그런 생각을 갖고 작업에 임하면서 숲을 만들기 이전에 숲을 이룰 하나하나를 만들고자 하는 목표가 생겼습니다.
'숲의 시작'은 한 메마른 감정을 지닌 한 소녀의 등줄기에서 나무가 쏟아납니다. 숲의 시작점이 된 이 소녀는 제 자신을 상징하기도 합니다. 소녀의 등줄기에서 피어오른 나무들이 숲을 이룰것임을 암시합니다. 소녀의 몸에서 자라난 나무는 그녀의 내면에 억눌려져 온 자아를 담고자 하였습니다. 그렇게 나무가 우거져 자라나듯 무수하게 억눌려진 감정과 자아들을 끄집에내어 표현하고 그렇게 표현된 것들이 숲을 이루도록 만들고자 합니다.  공간적 개념의 숲에서 공간 안에서 하나하나 개체들의 존재성을 담아내어 저를 숲으로 담아내고 싶었습니다.

소녀의 등에서 피어난 나무가 아직은 세그루에 지나지 않습니다. 작업을 통해 자아를 찾고 발견해나가면서 더 무수한 나무들과 그밖에 운동하는 많은 이미지들이 만들어질 것입니다. 그 이미지들이 후에 숲을 이루도록 작업하고자 합니다.
